About Tonset Capsules

Tonset contains drugs like vasa, shunti, tulasi, brihathi, pippali, daruharidra,etc. In adathoda vasica, although vasicin have no effect on free living protozoa, nor they have any toxic effect or inhibitory effect on bacteria (strepto cocci, staphylo cocci) etc, it has a volatile principle found in the leaves, which are said to have antiseptic effect. Ginger, thulasl, cheruvazhuthana decrease the swellings associated with tonsillitis and gingerin is a natural pain killer. Berberris (daruharidra) is antipyretic and also anti-inflammatory.

clinical trials

Since the occurrence of the disease was more found in children, only they were considered. A course of 45 days were given to all and repeated if necessary. 85% of the children showed good result. 10% the showed moderate result, with reoccurrence with in 3 months and rest had no result.

Overdose

No adverse effects whatsoever were found in any of the patients.

Safety

A safe and effective non surgical remedy for tonsillitis. Patients are advised to take rest and abstain from taking bath for initial 2-3 days.
Note

If the capsule could not be swallowed by small children they were administered with powder mixed with honey.

DOSAGE : 1-2 CAPSULE TDS OR AS DIRECTED BY THE PHYSICIAN

NOTES : A COURSE OF 45 DAYS IS ADVISED FOR CHRONIC PATIENTS OF TONSILLITIS AND IRRITANT COUGH. AVOID COLD AND FATTY FOODS.
